Kathleen Lynch is Senior Lecturer in Education and founding co-ordinator of the Equality Studies Centre at University College Dublin (UCD). She is the author of several books, including Schools and Society in Ireland, Equality and Power in Schools, The Hidden Curriculum, and Equality in Education. She is currently working on a book with John Baker and others titled Equality: From Theory to Action. John Baker is Senior Lecturer in Politics and a faculty member of the Equality Studies Centre at UCD. He is the author of Arguing for Equality, as well as numerous articles on democratic theory and equality studies. 

Readings for this series are also on reserve in the Social Science Library (8432 Social Science) under Sociology 994 with Professor Erik Wright. Students can receive credit in Sociology 994 (Colloquium in Critical Sociology, call number 20855) for attending lectures and seminars.
