GÖRAN THERBORN is professor emeritus of sociology at the University of Cambridge, UK, and affiliated professor at Linnaeus University, Sweden. He has been co-Director of the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study, professor of sociology at Gothenburg University, Sweden, and of political science at the Catholic University at Nijmegen, Netherlands.
